shark conservation

project details

Sharks are between the most misunderstood creatures of the animal world. As a student I developed a strong interest for sustainable, self-sufficient and innovative ways of living, leading me to get involved in conservation projects. I travelled to the Fiji Islands to contribute to marine biology research diving and studying shark behaviour, and I had the opportunity to use the knowledge I acquired in sustainable living to help with construction projects in the villages and raise awareness about the environment.

Sharks were an unknown to me until I met them. This experience left a mark on me. The magnificence of the nature, the sense of freedom and peace I experienced when living in contact with it, the great respect people have for the delicate environmental balance. I believe these could only be learnt through experience.
